Nordstrom Inc was a luxury department store chain located in America. Due to the good, developed economy and cause common high purchasing power for their people in America. In this case, Nordstrom was actually conducting the market targeting strategy which targets most high-end products and luxury products to be sold with high prices, high profitability. However, Nordstrom has sold most of the fashion items and products which are highly and easily effect by uncontrollable external factors such as personal preference and its product variety.

In this situation, while the stock left after seasons that caused by the uncertainty demand would be sales with promotion and discount at the Nordstrom rack outlet stores to clear their stock for preparing of the next season trends stocking.
